ABSTRACT

Specific features of the development of architecture in Uzbekistan in ancient period are considered in the paper. The author emphasizes the role of building materials and structures, studies the composition of ancient settlements in Khorezm and Bactria, reveals a high level of military architecture and planning principles of residential and castle structures.
